POSITION OVERVIEW
The staff pharmacist is accountable and responsible for providing quality pharmaceutical care as well as safe and cost-effective distributive services in a timely manner while coordinating technical pharmacy operations of day-to-day workflow and related activities. Services include: evaluating drug orders and patient-specific parameters for optimum benefits and minimum risks of drug therapy; dispensing and concurrently monitoring patient profiles along with managing and/or prescribing through protocols; participating in Code Blue and drug information activities; collecting study data and performing and documenting clinical interventions when appropriate; communicating about provision of services or other information to pertinent individuals and teaching health care providers in relation to drug therapy. The clinical staff pharmacist will practice in full compliance with DNV standards and state/federal laws governing the practice of pharmacy.
There may be on call time and Holiday coverage.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
1. Current licensure by the Washington State Board of Pharmacy as a Registered Pharmacist
2. Comprehensive clinical knowledge of the practice of hospital pharmacy with experiential training consisting of one or more of the following: Hospital experience (two years preferred), successful completion of an accredited hospital pharmacy residency and/or Board Certification in a pharmacy specialty
3. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
4. Demonstration of clinical competence

Demonstration of excellence in interpersonal communication skills Experience and/or knowledge in drug therapy, and the ability to perform and/or consult in the following areas of hospital pharmacy operations for Inpatient and Outpatient services via a decentralized or centralized pharmacy. Age-specific dosing and pharmacokinetic dosing, renal and/or hepatic impairment dosing, pregnancy and/or lactation drug contraindications, drug/drug interactions, drug/food interactions, drug/disease interactions, IV compatibility, collaborative Drug Therapy Agreement, pharmacist prescribing by protocol, prescriber assigned dosing, and by prescriber assigned consults. Computer order entry and verification of patient profiles, sterile products, IV admixtures, parenteral nutrition solutions, compounds and chemotherapy, aseptic technique and Infection Control standards, controlled substances management, code Blue participation, teaching and/or orientation of patients/families and healthcare providers, quality assurance studies and performance improvement, Drug Usage Evaluation, Target Drug Programs, Adverse Drug Reaction investigations, Medication Use Variance monitoring and intervention

5. Demonstration of excellence in interpersonal communications skills
6. Demonstrate good manual dexterity, and good eye-hand coordination, particularly when preparing IV admixtures using aseptic technique
7. Ability to type proficiently at 20 wpm
8. Ability to work with others
